Things in twos.

Here they are, my first toe up socks, and not half as bad as I thought. Although, the only thing I truly liked about this pattern was the afterthought heel. I'm not that happy with the toe. So, my next pair will be top to toe, with an afterthought heel. Oh, and I'll use a smaller needle size, these are a little loose. Love this self-striping yarn though. Great deal on Knit Picks.
Enough with the sock though, let's move on.

These two little hats were requested by my sister. She needed gifts for a friend and ask that I make something. I whipped these out this weekend. Baby hats are so easy and quick. My own designs too.

And yes, this morning I put the finishing touches on the pink lacy baby sweater. The buttons and blocking. Now it'll sit around until someone has a baby girl, we'll see what spring brings.

I'm still working on the blankets and have plans for another baby sweater and a pair of red socks. Might have to throw in a cute summer tank for me though. Man I can't wait for warmer weather to get here.

That's all for now, I hope to have more to show of later this week.

Pictures!!!!

Yeah! I got my pictures downloaded, and no I didn't finish the pink sweater last night. All I've got to do in sew on that one last sleeve, ok, I'll do it tonight, I promise. There's just so much else to do, look...

I'm just about done with this baby blanket. I think it's going to be bigger then I expected. It's been fun, but I'm ready to be done with it.

Here's the ripple afghan I started, I know it looks like something from Grandma's collection but I've got to use up this yarn somehow.

And this thing... This is my lovely coffee table in pieces on the floor. It's all sanded and ready for a nice finish to be put on, but it chooses it lay here in pieces. Maybe I can cover it with my Grandma afghan once I'm done...

My toe-up sock is coming along nicely, I'll have pictures soon! Oh, and you have to check out Stuff on my Cat, Bessie got her picture on.

Now you see it, now you don't.

This was my second attempted to post more photos and the system has failed. Damn this Blogger!
So here is a prelude to what to expect, if I ever get photos to post again.
I'm all done with the pink baby sweater, almost... I have one more sleeve to sew on and then the collar to block, I've had plenty of time to do this too, I've just been putting it off.
I have new projects, a pair of toe-up socks (that's an experience), a new crocheted afghan, and I'm still working on the pink, blue and white baby blanket. I should be done with that one soon. Due to my inability to sew on that one last sleeve I've come to the conclusion that I do much better when sleeves, and collars and edgings are put on by picking up stitches and working off the piece. I just don't do well if I have to finish a piece by sewing on arms and such. It's not that I don't like sewing, in fact come spring I'll be making sun dresses again for sure, and I have a bag in the works that I hope to have done soon; it's out of a wonderful old curtain fabric.
Anyway, I'll get the sweater done soon enough, and after I'll know never to work that pattern again, even though it is a very cute little thing.

I just tried to download photos again, it didn't work. I'll try again tomorrow, who knows I might even have the sweater done by then.

Baby1

Here's a little blanket I've been working on. The yarn is from my boyfriend's grandmother, and it's probably 30 years old. I didn't want it to go to waste and a blanket seemed to be the only reasonable item to make. Sure, I though about a sweater, and then came to my senses.
And yes folks, it's RedHeart, and it still had the old K-Mart price tag on it. Wow.

Here's a close up of the pattern.

Ok, I'll promise to get off the baby stuff kick soon, just a few more things. I have started another pair of sock using self striping yarn. I'll get pictures soon.

Baby 2

Here is my latest baby sweater in the works. I'm done blocking so hope to get to the finishing bits tonight.

Here's a close up of the pattern. It's surprizingly easy and very quick. I'm using KnitPicks Palette. Oh look, and I just got my latest shipment in. Now I can make a rainbow of sweaters!

So much yarn, so little time.

If I can get it away from Bessie.

I love rainy days

Hi everyone! Wow, I finished that second sock, that's rare. Actually, that's why I made shorty socks, so that they would go faster and I'd be sure to finish the second one. However, before I finished the second sock I made this...

...a second teddy sweater -Hey mom, remember that teddy bear?- Face it, small sweaters are just fun.

After all that I started this little pink sweater. Hopefully it won't take too long, but it is a light weight yarn and a slightly more complex piece.

Now that the Knitting Olympics are over I've been timing myself on my projects, just for fun. I haven't started counting hours, but I do keep track of how many days it takes. On average I think I spend about 4 to 5 hours per night knitting, on the weekends it's much more. Too much?

And just in case I run out of things to knit I bought these books the other day.

Well, that all the stuff I've finished this week. Along with the pink baby sweater I also have a doggie sweater in the works for my friend Squeak (I would have posted a photo but I want it to be a surprise). It's a rainy day here, which gives me the perfect excuse to stay in and knit, and that's just what I'm going to do.

Until next time, PG
