First day on
I hope you don't mind knitting stories because that is what most of this is going to be. Nonetheless I hope there are some knitters out there alike that will enjoy and commit.
Socks...
What knitter wouldn't be complete without sock making. The first sock I made was totally gauged wrong. It looked like it would have been perfect for someone with a cast, but no normal foot would have enjoy wearing it. I never made its mate. Many socks later, I'm much more confident in my work. I now seem to always have a pair going. I just finished two little pairs for my nieces. They are 4 year old twins so it seems I'm always making double. They chose the colors, they have very good taste, Amy's are pink and purple and Laura's are pink and red, and Valentine's Day just around the corner. Their older brother is getting a black pair with lighting bolts up the sides. He wanted gold and silver, but black and yellow yarn was easier to locate and much more affordable. After that I'm going to make a pair for my sister-in-law and then a pair for myself. But, first I should really finish my boyfriend's new hat, that I haven't even started. It's just a simple black hat and I think that is why I'm putting it off, it is boring to knit. What I really want to do is start on a sweater pattern that I've had my eyes on, but that would be selfish and winter is going to be over before I we know it and he needs his hat now, sigh...
The hat it is, right after my nephew's socks. Then two more pairs of socks, one for the sister-in-law and one for me, then my sweater. I'll try to post some patterns soon, all originals too! I'll also have a list of all my favorite knitting books, magazines and resources.
I also crochet. Yes, I know some knitters are very much against crochet, but there is a time and a place for it.
Must cut this one short, send me patterns, ideas, thoughts on knitting, whatever.
